Fractional Project Management
Willow Consulting's strategy starts with a simple, consistent truth observed across industries: every organization runs projects, and every organization needs someone capable of managing them well — but very few businesses can justify the cost of a full-time, senior-level project manager on staff.
That gap is where fractional project management fits. It allows your organization to access enterprise-caliber expertise on an as-needed basis, paying only for the capacity you actually use rather than carrying the fixed overhead of a full-time hire.
Our Services
That fractional model shows up in three core services, each built around a different point in a project's life:
PMO as a Service
brings the governance function of a mature Project Management Office to organizations that aren't ready for a full-time hire — portfolio visibility, a steady reporting cadence, and standardized templates that keep every initiative accountable.
Project Set-Up & Risk Assessment
is the disciplined front end of any initiative — a clear charter, real requirements, mapped stakeholders, and an honest look at what could go wrong, so problems get caught on paper instead of in production.
Project Execution
is fractional, hands-on project management — senior-level leadership embedded from kickoff through closeout, keeping scope, budget, and timeline on track without the cost of a full-time hire.

Why Willow
Karin Gayvert, PMP & MSKarin is a certified PMP with deep expertise in AI‑driven project management, cloud environments, and organizational change. She has led enterprise implementations for global firms including AHEAD, Alight Solutions, and Siemens — always with people at the center of every decision.A first‑generation college graduate from Pittsburgh, Karin grew up a self‑described “kid of steel,” shaped by the collapse of the steel mills and the resilience that followed. She learned early that transformation isn’t something that happens to you — it’s something you navigate with grit, strategy, and heart. That mindset carried her through a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Robert Morris University and into a 25‑year career delivering complex projects across healthcare, finance, information technology, and human capital management.
It’s the same drive that took her to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, across a 100‑mile bike race, and over a half‑marathon finish line. Before founding Willow Consulting, Karin spent 25+ years leading enterprise technology transformations for global organizations. One of her career-defining projects — leading the development of a first-of-kind, on-demand API framework for real-time financial transactions at Hewitt Associates — was recognized by InformationWeek as one of the Top 100 Technologies to Watch in 2010. Built without an industry model and delivered against a timeline established on little more than a calculated risk, it taught her the leadership principle that still drives Willow today: when the path forward is unclear, what matters most is keeping people moving with confidence and purpose.Willow Consulting is the natural next chapter — bringing Karin's hard-won expertise directly to the businesses that deserve a strategic partner
not just a vendor.
